ABC NOTICE - Brand Registration and Label Approval
Dear Kansas Supplier:
As you know, the Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Division has required suppliers to register their brands to be sold in Kansas and has charged a brand registration fee in the amount of $25 per brand.
Pursuant to K.S.A. 41-331(b) “Every supplier desiring to sell alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverage to distributors in this state shall be required to register each brand of such alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverage with the director prior to making shipments to distributors in this state. Registration shall be in a form prescribed by rules and regulations of the secretary and shall be accompanied by an annual fee of $25 for each label proposed for sale in this state.”
For the products to be sold in Kansas from July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006, each supplier must register their brand and each label with the ABC. There will not be a fee to register each brand; however, there will now be a $25 fee to register each label.
To comply with K.S.A. 41-331(b), all suppliers are required to complete and return the Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Application for Brand Registration and Label Approval form. Additionally, all suppliers must submit one (1) set of original labels for each size of container that will be sold in Kansas. All registered brands and approved labels will be posted on our ABC Website. ABC will send no other correspondence.
