CRAZY WEATHER CAUSES MANY BINGO CANCELLATIONS
Due to the weather conditions in the past few weeks many bingo games
were cancelled. Remember when notifying the Department of Revenue
of any changes in scheduling it must be in writing. You may email,
fax or mail it. Leaving a message on the bingo hotline does not
comply with State Statutes.
ORGANIZATIONS MUST REMEMBER
Do not ask the premise owner to assist in the operation of the games.
Premises owners and/or employees are not allowed to sell paper,
verify numbers, act as a caller or play bingo at their own premises.
The statutes make this very clear. (K.S.A. 79-4706 (c)).
HOUSE RULES PLAY A VALUABLE PART OF A SUCCESSFUL
BINGO GAME
Many of the complaints we receive could be avoided if organizations
would give some thought to posting house rules. Putting them on
the game schedule is one way to provide access to everyone playing.
Here are just a few examples your organization might want to consider:
House Rules:
- Are children allowed to play at your parlor? How are disputes handled?
- How does the organization handle multiple winners? Can players split or share packages?
- How are winners paid? Check or cash? Is the last number called always the winner?
- Is alcohol allowed in the bingo hall? Can people bring food or drink into the hall?
- Must bingo daubers be used to mark faces ? Are cell phones allowed in the bingo hall?
