WHERE DO THE DONATIONS GO?
In the last newsletter we asked to hear from you regarding your organization’s contribution to the community. Here’s what we heard!

CRAZY WEATHER CAUSES MANY BINGO CANCELLATIONS
Due to the weather conditions in the past few weeks many bingo games were cancelled. Remember when notifying the Department of Revenue of any changes in scheduling it must be in writing. You may email, fax or mail it. Leaving a message on the bingo hotline does not comply with State Statutes.

ORGANIZATIONS MUST REMEMBER
Do not ask the premise owner to assist in the operation of the games. Premises owners and/or employees are not allowed to sell paper, verify numbers, act as a caller or play bingo at their own premises. The statutes make this very clear. (K.S.A. 79-4706 (c)).

HOUSE RULES PLAY A VALUABLE PART OF A SUCCESSFUL BINGO GAME
Many of the complaints we receive could be avoided if organizations would give some thought to posting house rules. Putting them on the game schedule is one way to provide access to everyone playing. Here are just a few examples your organization might want to consider:

House Rules:

ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION: ( November & December)
K.A.R. 92-23-90 Failure to file monthly reports in a timely manner
12 violations penalty $25.00 each Organization

K.S.A. 79-4706 ( c ) No lessor, employee of such lessor, officer or shareholder of a for profit corporation which is the lessor shall play any game of bingo or participate in any drawing on premises leased by any such lessor nor shall such person be responsible for or assist in the management, operation or conduct of any game of bingo or drawing on such premises.
16 violations penalty $50.00 each Premises owner

K.S.A. 79-4701 et seq. Selling bingo cards and instant bingo pull tabs to an unlicensed organization to conduct illegal bingo games.
8 violations penalty $100.00 each Distributor

K.S.A. 79-4701 et seq. Allowing an unlicensed organization to conduct bingo games on the registered premises.
8 violations penalty $100.00 each Premises owner.
