WELCOME NEW ORGANIZATIONS
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 45 – Junction City
WEBSITE CONTINUES TO BE POPULAR
The Bingo web-site continues to be helpful to organizations and
individuals in Kansas wanting to know more about bingo or need to
replace their bingo handbook, a monthly report or another newsletter.
Almost daily people are referred to the web-site for references.
The site is easy to find and can be located by going on line to
Kansas Department of Revenue – Your Business – Bingo.
On that page one can find and download the bingo handbook, blank
copy of the monthly report, regulations & statutes, old newsletters
and frequently asked questions & answers. This is convenient
for organizations and distributors to use as it can be accessed
any time.
SELF-AUDITS ARE DUE NOW
Slightly over 130 organizations were selected to participate in
a self-audit. They are due in February 12th. To this date 25% have
been returned. If your organization was selected to participate
in this process remember they are due February 12, 2006. If they
are not returned by this date a field agent will contact the organization.
PREMISES OWNERS TURN IN FORMS
Premises owners now turn in monthly forms indicating which organizations
play at their premises and the schedule. The information is crossed-checked
against that which is currently on file. From time to time organizations
find it necessary to move from one location to another and forget
to notify the State of the change. This is a violation of [K.A.R.
92-23-14]. “When a license is obtained initially or renewed,
a schedule of bingo sessions must be included. If a licensee choose
to schedule a session at a time or date different from that previously
furnished, written notice must be provided to the Administrator
at least seven days prior to the date of the session.“
CAN AN ORGANIZATION ADVERTISE THEIR GAMES?
“All advertising of bingo games by licensed organizations
and registered premises must include the full name of the organization
sponsoring the games. [K.S.A. 79-4706 (o) and K.A.R. 92-23-40] Licensed
organizations and premises with outside signs advertising bingo
games must have a sign identifying the full name of the organization
(s) sponsoring the bingo games at the premises. If there is more
than one sponsoring organization, the sign must include the day
of the week that each organization is sponsoring. Advertising in
telephone books and via radio, television and mail are permitted
as long as they include the full name of each organization sponsoring
the games.
