SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN REPORTING
When organizations receive their bingo license they also receive
the monthly report forms for the remaining licensed year. This saves
the state monthly mailing costs in addition to the preparation time.
Organizations playing only several times a year can complete and
mail in advance the reports for the months not played.
PULL –TABS ARRIVE IN WRONG BOX
Several organizations are reporting inconsistencies in their pull-tabs
purchased from one of the licensed distributors in Kansas. They
are receiving an incorrect numbers of pull tabs in their boxes while
some have tabs with serial numbers from a different box in the one
just opened. Volunteers should count the pull-tabs in their box
prior to selling them in order to prevent confusion with their players.
TRAINING WORKSHOPS SPREADING ACROSS THE STATE
A series of training workshops have been organized for this fall.
Workshops are designed to educate volunteers on the guidelines in
sponsoring bingo games. They provide an exchange of ideas among
various groups. This series of workshops include bingo patterns,
terms, house rules and other bits of information to help in the
operation of the games.
OFFICERS CAN BE UPDATED ON LINE
Using the web-site for the Department of Revenue – Your Business
– Bingo the officer update form is located there for your
convenience. Organizations are required to provide information with
regard to changes in officers as it occurs.
BINGO MOVES TO UPDATE PLAYERS
Currently there is a listing of licensed distributors in the State
of Kansas on the bingo site listed under the Department of Revenue.
By the end of the year we intend to have licensed bingo organizations
listed on the web-site. The listing will look something like this:
| Organization | City | Contact phone number |
|---|---|---|
| Save the Buffalo | 124 S. Chips Hayes KS 67204 | 620-111-1111 |
Only those organizations signing and returning the enclosed form by the October 30th deadline will be listed on the KDOR web-site. Any changes in phone numbers must be forwarded to the Administrator of Charitable Gaming immediately.
WRITTEN NOTICE IS REQUIRED
K.A.R. 92-23-14 (b) “Whenever a licensee intends to conduct
bingo games on a date or at a time different from the previously
furnished in writing to the secretary of revenue, the licensee shall
submit written notice of the change to the bingo enforcement unit
of the department of revenue at least seven days prior to the effective
date of that change.”
Notices of this matter are to be sent to the Administrator of Charitable Gaming seven days in advance of the change. They must be in writing. They can be faxed, emailed or mailed. Inclement weather or other “acts of nature” are the only basis upon which a licensee may cancel a game without giving advance notice to the Administrator.
This does not mean the parlor submits the information for the organization. It is the responsibility of the organization to follow this regulation.
