New Look for Kansas Driver's Licenses and Identification Cards

A Message from Carmen Alldritt, Director of Vehicles

Beginning May 2004, the Kansas Division of Vehicles will issue Driver License, Permit, and Non-driver License documents with a new format.

The actual document will no longer be issued immediately. Drivers and identification card holders will be issued a temporary receipt at the license station and the new document will be returned to them by mail. For that reason it will be very important for each applicant to provide an accurate address at the time of application. The temporary receipt will be acceptable for operating a vehicle and other purposes that the actual document can be used for. Click here for a list of FAQ's

The most evident new feature is the vertical license or ID card issued to applicants under 21 years of age. Click here or on the example below for more information and samples.
