State, County Offices Closed to Vehicle, Driver License Business

The Kansas Department of Revenue is launching a new system for tracking vehicles and drivers and some services will not be available during the switch from the old system to the new one.

Following are the services affected and the dates they are not available:

April 26 through May 6

  • Kansas Web-Tags will shut down at 6 p.m. April 26. It will be back online May 7.
  • Registration renewals due in April are for vehicle owners whose last names begin with C or D. Vehicle owners are able to renew in person at their county treasurer's office through the end of business day April 30.
  • Registration renewals due in May are for vehicle owners whose last names begin with E, F or G. May registration renewals can't be processed through Kansas Web-Tags until after May 7, but they can be renewed by mail or in person at the vehicle owners county treasurer's office.
  • Kansas ELien will shut down at 6 p.m. April 26. It will be back online May 7. State and county offices will be unable to apply or release liens during this time.

May 1 through May 7

  • The Kansas Department of Revenue title and registration office will be closed to all vehicle business. The office will reopen May 8.
  • County treasurer offices will be closed to all vehicle business, including title work and registration renewals. County offices may reopen May 8 or they may choose to be closed longer. Call before you go.

May 1 through May 6

  • County treasurer offices will be closed to driver license and identification card business. Operations will resume May 7.
  • The Kansas Department of Revenue driver control office will be unable to make changes to driver records, including adding or removing convictions, license suspensions and license reinstatements. Operations will resume May 7.

May 1 through May 7

  • The Kansas Department of Revenue offices will be closed to driver license and identification card business. Operations will resume May 8.
