BUSINESS RESTORATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

(Kiowa County) -- The Kiowa County Business Restoration Assistance Program will be ending June 30, 2010.
Only those applications that were submitted by June 30, 2008 and received confirmation from the Kansas Department of Revenue regarding pre-approved assistance will be considered.
All investment to rebuild or replace a business facility within Kiowa County and the business machinery and equipment of a business that was damaged or destroyed by the tornado or other severe weather that occurred on May 4, 2007 must be made and placed into service by June 30, 2010.
Employment positions that are restored in Kiowa County by the business must be in place and working by June 30, 2010. In order to be considered for the assistance program, the position must be filled for a period of 3 consecutive months on at least a part-time basis (20 hours per week for each entire month). This 3 month period may begin on June 30, 2010.
A request for the assistance payment must be made by the business and postmarked (or emailed) by December 31, 2010. The request for payment must be made by completing the Request for Restoration Payment, form PR-Assist. In addition, if the business is requesting payment on investment made, Schedule I, PR-Assist must be completed and a copy of each invoice and a copy of the cancelled check paying that invoice must be submitted. If the business is requesting payment on jobs restored, documentation shall include a copy of the most recent employer quarterly wage report and unemployment tax return showing these positions as well as copies of payroll checks or vouchers, establishing the dates the positions were filled and the amount of wages paid to each employee. An employee must have been employed for at least 3 months after May 4, 2007 to qualify you for the job restoration assistance program.
SOUTHEAST KANSAS
The Southeast Kansas Business Restoration Assistance Program will be ending June 30, 2010. The counties included in the Southeast Kansas program are Allen, Anderson, Bourbon, Butler, Chautauqua, Cherokee, Coffey, Cowley, Crawford, Edwards, Elk, Franklin, Greenwood, Harper, Labette, Linn, Miami, Montgomery, Neosho, Osage, Pawnee, Wilson, and Woodson.
