Property Valuation
Public Utility Forms

Ad Valorem property forms (the rendition) are automatically mailed to utility companies known to be operating in Kansas on or before February 1, of each year.

The rendition forms for public utilities are unique. They differ with respect to industry, company size, and degree of regulation as well as by regulatory oversight agency. Consequently, acquiring the set of forms which is specific to the company is essential for a proper filing. For that reason they are not available for download but must be requested from the Utility Section supervisor or the appropriate industry staff appraiser.

Forms may be requested by e-mail, fax, or mail. No electronic submission is available at this time.

Forms are required to be filed on or before March 20, of each year. No extension of the filing time is possible. Penalties for failure to file timely are covered in K.S.A. 79-5a09 which states in part: ". . . Every public utility which shall fail or refuse to comply with any of the provisions of this act shall forfeit not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each such offense, . . ."
